Statement on the Death of former President Corazon C. Aquino

I condole and offer my prayers to the passing of a leader of all generations, Mrs. Corazon Aquino, who until her remaining years continued to inspire and guide our countrymen towards the ideals of public service and the true essence of democracy.

Marahil ay sadyang nakaikibat na sa mag-asawang Ninoy at Cory ang responsibilidad na ipaglaban ang demokrasya para sa buong sambayanang Pilipino.

Let us consciously carry on her legacy for the sake of the country she very well loved.

Statement on former President Corazon C. Aquino

Few have contributed so much for the democratic space Filipinos now possess. Let us all pray for the turnaround of Cory’s condition and her recovery.

Now that the institutions of that democracy have been weakened by continuous and continuing assaults by the powers that be, all the more does the nation need her uncompromising faith in democracy and her unflinching advocacy for good governance.
